Gator Update

Well, apparently, the second alligator-the four foot long one-has just apparently gone away. LOL.

NEWCOMERSTOWN, OH — Until another alligator is seen in the Tuscarawas River, Tuscarawas County law enforcement officials are considering the recent alligator saga near Newcomerstown to be closed.

Newcomerstown resident Shawn Parks, who captured a small alligator in the river near the Rt. 258 bridge on Monday, agrees.

Parks said he returned to the site four or five times Tuesday and didn’t see the second alligator that he previously saw in the area, the one he photographed Thursday.

His theory is that someone captured the other alligator, which he said was about twice as big as the one he caught Monday.

I like this one's comments:

Detective Capt. Orvis Campbell said he doesn’t know for sure there was a second alligator, but noted there are some rumors to that effect.

Umm, the one that the newspaper has pictures of? That one? LOL.

Campbell said he and Sheriff Walt Wilson spoke to a person who was rumored to be the owner of the alligator found in the river, and she denied it.

He added that the woman said she does have an alligator at her home and offered to let him and the sheriff see it.

Campbell said his department didn’t receive any further reports of alligators in the river on Tuesday, and it probably won’t do anything further unless another one shows up.

"Just" gone away. You say that about acne, or a rash. Not something that can eat you. :D
