I thought I would start doing a weekly summation of my training. I know my pacer and my mentors read my blog, so rather than make them sift through the dross of how many new dogs I encountered this week, I could throw some facts they won't have to sift to find. Although, reading about my mental attitude is 90% of ultra running!
Monday Feb 14 2.2 miles walking, on treadmill. Just to help recovery on sore quads
Tues Feb 15 4 miles 50 minutes around the block. Jog/walk to help recovery
Web Feb 16 4.4 miles 57.53 out and back from the house
Thurs Feb 17 6.4 miles around the different block in 1.23 hours, about average for me for this run. Felt good, mild weather temps
Friday-day off. Tempted to run. Head said "go run". Body said, sleep in. Worked the late shift, till 9 pm. Gorgeous full moon. Wished I had running clothes with me, wanted to go run in the moonlight.
Saturday- 13 miles in 2 hours 53. Felt sluggish and not much energy. Mind wanted to run far, body did not. Came home, and actually took a nap. Hope I am not getting sick. (Having hypochondriac symptoms at the moment.)
Sunday-no plans yet. Might go run some at Salt Fork, since the ice should be off the trails. If I do, it will be around 7 or 10 miles with some walking mixed in. Or work on my walking speed on the gravelled road on our property. Number one on the agenda is to sleep in.
Edited to Add: 5.5 miles on the trails of Salt Fork. Felt good. Took it easy.
So, weekly totals 2.2 miles walking, 33.3 miles running.
Definitely not where I would like to be, I would like them to be higher. But I did not know how I was going to feel after xxx miles at TWOT. I'm still okay with the mileage I got in, and have not managed to get sick like almost everybody I have encountered lately.
