Monday March 1-walked 2 miles on treadmill
Tuesday March 2-zero day. Tired after 10 hour work day. Early to bed
Wednesday March 3-walked 1.5 miles, attempted to stretch out legs afterwards.
Thursday March 4-hiked/jogged 2 hours at Salt Fork State Park on trails. Quads still tight, making it painful on the ups and downs.
Friday-zero day
Saturday (today) will also be a zero day as I work my 10 hour work day alone, very tiring.
Sunday, also a work day, plan to walk 2 miles after work. Then Monday, (my day off) get an 11 mile around the block run in, no matter how long it takes.
I got more sleep in this week, and I need to get at that.
Blisters-I taped the bottoms of my feet, and no blisters. However, early on, I could feel a hot spot starting on the back of one heel, which was not taped. Some duct tape applied, problem solved. I completed 71 miles with two small blisters-victory in itself. I think my new SmartWool toesocks were a bit too big. I might try the smaller size, or (sigh) wear Injinjis again.
Nutrition-the maltodextrin is working well. I had too much "sweet" on this run, and was heartily sick of the stuff in the last 10 miles. However, it was also "all I had" to eat, calorie-wise, so I was pleased that I kept putting the calories in the body.
Mental attitude-on my drive home, from Pa, after the Reverse Ring, I have finally come to believe that I can and will finish the MMT 100. And that's not bragging, or being cocky, or too full of myself (things I disapprove of in myself ) or jinxing my race to say that. That was a big mental hurdle for me to get over. The belief is there. Yeah.
Me finishing the Reverse Ring
